These are the Try-It Badges we've earned so far!

Girl Scout Ways
In May, 2006, our troop earned our first Try-It. We learned to sing "Brownie Smile," made s'mores, and had a wonderful time crafting our sit-upons. In September and October, the bridged Brownies will work with our new scout sisters, and teach them about the Girl Scout Ways.

Animals   In October,  We made Happy Socks, fiber fill and catnip sock toys for disadvantaged and homeless cats.

Art To Wear We, along with Troop 1042 received tote bags and were encouraged to decorate them with fabric markers and glitter for our art to wear  try-it patch

Caring and Sharing October 17th , Ms. Annemarie Godvin, a representative from the Volunteer Center of Monmouth County, came to visit and talk about the ways we could volunteer our services to those who may need us.

Sewing We also learned to slip stitch coin purses and cross stitch book marks for our sewing try-it patch.

Computer Smarts: Some of our brownies came to the Camp Sac Spooktacular, where a room was reserved for us to participate in the JOTI or  Scout's "Jamboree on the Internet."

Troop Try-its for 2006-2007

These Try Its are good for first-year Brownies. These have been recommended to be age-appropriate. The first two reinforce what Scouting is really about. The others are good “basic" or "foundation” try its.

* Girl Scout Ways
May-September 2006 We learned about the Brownie handshake, the Promise, the Brownie Smile Song and the Brownie Circle. We are learning to use a kaper chart.
